1949 - 2025

Alvin Keith Crawford, 76, of Hayesville, passed away peacefully at home on Nov. 28, 2025, after a prolonged illness.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, he lived a life marked by quiet strength, kindness and unwavering faith. Keith was born on Nov. 8, 1949 to the late Wallace and Virginia Crawford of Hayesville. He is survived by his faithful and beloved wife of 55 years, Donna McClure Crawford. His three children, Kevin and wife, Kelly G. Crawford, of Hayesville; Kelly and wife, Kristen Crawford, of Greenville, S.C.; and daughter Kristin and Shea Taylor, of Hayesville. Keith's pride and joy were his grandchildren; Madison, 23, Morgan, 20, Kaitlynn, 16, Camden, 14, Colton, 13, Matthew, 12, Gracie, 10, and Brooklynn, 9.
For more than 40 years, Keith served as manager of Chatuge Shores Golf course, a place he cherished and poured his heart into. His steady presence, warm smile and commitment to building a welcoming community left a lasting impact on everyone who had the pleasure of walking its fairways. To many, he was not just a manager, but a mentor, friend and the soul of the course.
Above all, Keith loved God deeply and lived out his faith in all he did. His trust in the Lord guided his steps, shaped his character and gave him peace throughout every season of life. He was a devoted member of Oak Forest United Methodist Church where he held numerous offices and was a beloved member of the choir. Keith also faithfully served with the Clay County Lions Club.
His greatest joy, however, came from his family, especially his grandchildren. He could always be found in the stands or in the audience, cheering at sporting events, concerts and every milestone in between. No matter the occasion, he was their number one fan, celebrating their accomplishments with pride and a full heart.
Keith leaves behind a legacy of love, faith and dedication. He will be forever remembered by those who knew him and deeply missed by all who loved him.
A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30 at Oak Forest United Methodist Church in Hayesville with Rev. Tim Lee and Rev. Andrew Brown officiating. Music was provided by Emily Gerdes.
The family received friends from 2-3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30 prior to the service.
