David Larson Obituary

David E. Larson, 82, of Hayesville, went home to the Lord Friday, March 29, 2024. He was a native of Minneapolis, Minn. and graduated from the University of Minnesota. David served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He began working for Honeywell Corporation and worked his way up to corporate headquarters in Minneapolis. David worked for Honeywell for 32 years until retiring in 1996 as Vice President of Human Resources. He cherished retirement and the opportunity it gave him to golf.
Following retirement, David moved to Hayesville in 1998 and was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. David served the Lord and his community through leadership roles within the church and civic organizations. Service was his passion, a gift from the Lord and he used that gift to help and serve others throughout his life.
He was the son of the late Edward William and Charlotte Albena Lovely Larson.
Surviving is his wife Beverly Morris Larson; three daughters Ericka Helling and husband, Bob, of Minnetonka, Minn., Bridget Cacopardo and husband, Eric of Matawan, N.J., Kelliann Kaphers and husband, Randy Long, of Warne, N.C.; one son ,Chris Kaphers, of Hayesville; one sister, Darla Ann Miller and husband, Ernie of Naples, Fla.; two grandchildren, Joshua Laven, of Minneapolis, and Elizabeth Helling, of Minnetonka; and by his beloved dogs, Miranda and Lexi. He was preceded by several other beloved Shih Tzu's.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3 at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd with Father Bill Breedlove officiating. Inurnment took place in the Church Memory Garden with a flag presentation provided by the American Legion Post 532. A reception followed in the fellowship hall. The service will be live streamed on the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd's Facebook page.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials in memory of David Larson be made to the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 495 Herbert Hills Dr., Hayesville, N.C. 28904.

Bev, l am so sorry to hear about Dave. May He Rest In Peace and Rise in Glory. He was a lovely man. Know he and Dr. Andy (who passed the day before Dave) are having great talks together. Prayers of compassion, comfort and peace to you.
