Dora Belcher Obituary

Dora Mae Belcher, 81, of Hayesville, passed away Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025.
She was born in the Hiwassee Dam community to the late John and Florence Floyd Walker. Dora worked as a material handler for Snap-On Tools. Dora liked to fish, hunt, yard selling and enjoyed working outside. She loved to cook for her family. Dora enjoyed playing with her youngest grandson, Jaydan; great-granddaughter, Sophie and her great-great-granddaughter, Paisley Mae.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Tommy Lewis and Brad Belcher; infant daughter, Gail Belcher; one grandson, Mark McGough; brothers, Charles Walker, Ralph Walker and Johnny Stephenson; and one sister, Linda Gibby.
She is survived by two sons, Jason Belcher (Whitney), of Hayesville and Ronnie Lewis, of Virginia Beach, Va.; two daughters, Mary Matheny (Bill) and Vickie Lewis, all of Hayesville; two brothers, Joe Walker, of the Hiwassee Dam community and Bobby Doggett of Ruskin, Ariz.; two sisters, Carolyn Beard, of Morganton, and Emily Baxter, of Murphy; nine grandchildren, David McGough (Diana), Sara McGough, Leslie Gibson (Gregg), Alisha Messer (Cody), Jaydan Belcher, Allana Smith (Ian), Emily Newton (Chris), Jasmine Brooks and Brittany Lewis; 16 great-grandchildren and one great- great-granddaughter, Paisley Mae.
