C. Shumate Obituary

Keith was born Carlos Keith Shumate on July 22, 1930, in Glen Daniel, WV. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and served during the Korean Conflict. He attended Marshall University in Huntington, WV; West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV; and Cleveland State University in Cleveland, OH. He earned a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering as well as his Juris Doctor. Keith retired from Eveready/Energizer Battery Co., in Westlake, OH, as Project Manager with 33 years of service. He also practiced law in the Cleveland area for 22 years. Keith was a Registered Professional Electrical Engineer licensed by the state of Ohio. He was also a 32° Mason. Keith married his beloved wife, Ann M. Frost, on May 31, 1956, in Pearlsburg, VA. She predeceased him in 2023. Keith is survived by three nieces and two nephews. He died on May 10, 2025, in the Danbury Senior Living Facility, Brunswick, OH, at the age of 94.
Visitation will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, May 19, 2025, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick, OH; www.waitefuneralhome.com.
