Florence Andrews Obituary

We regret to announce the death of Florence Aulene Andrews of Rocky River, Ohio on September 22, 2025. Florence was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada on October 22, 1925. She was the daughter of Abraham and Elizabeth Ruth (nee Dean) Morrison (both deceased). Her husband Eric, daughter Kimberley, sisters Annie and Jessie, and brother Leonard predeceased her. She is survived by her daughter Ruth (Craig), son Bruce (Elke), grandchildren Erica (Chad) Larter, Brittany (Jeramy) Hall, Julia, Iain and Eric Andrews; and great grandchildren Caleb and Elias Larter, and Mille and Miles Hall. Florence earned an RN at Montreal's Queen Elizabeth Hospital and worked in the surgical OR during her time as a nurse. After raising her three children she volunteered at Lakewood Hospital as an aide in the OR and later at the hospital's Thrifty Peddler store. She enjoyed family, reading, travel, and bridge. Her most important activity was providing lifelong care and advocacy for her daughter Kim, who had Down Syndrome, until Kim's passing on October 14, 2012. The family extends a special thanks to the staff at The Normandy Senior Living for their friendship and support in her later years. Memorial service and burial on Cape Breton Island, Canada at a later date. Memorial donations would be appreciated to Welcome House, 802 Sharon Drive, Suite A, Westlake, OH 44145.
