Richard Reminger Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Richard T. Reminger of Cleveland, Ohio, and West Palm Beach, Florida, announces his passing. He was 94 years of age. Richard, or Dick as he was known, was the founder and retired CEO of Reminger Co., LPA, a law firm headquartered in Cleveland.
Dick will be forever cherished by his wife of 71 extraordinary years, Billie Greer; daughter Susan Reminger Foote (David); daughter Patricia Reminger Davis (Thomas); son Richard T. Reminger, Jr. (Linda); four grandchildren Brett Davis, Trevor Davis (Melissa), Danielle Reminger Satterwhite (Kyle), and Richard T. Reminger, III; three great-grandchildren (Wesley and William Davis and Neil Satterwhite); and a niece, Barbara Oswick. His parents and brothers predeceased him.
Born in Cleveland, Dick graduated from Western Reserve University where he later established the Richard T. Reminger Endowment Fund at Case Western Reserve University. His Juris Doctor degree was obtained from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. In 1958 he opened the law firm Reminger & Reminger Co., L.P.A.
An outstanding trial attorney, Dick specialized in the defense of civil matters in a large spectrum of lawsuits, particularly in the motor carrier industry. In the latter part of his legal career, he defended physicians and hospitals, including The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, and mentored a generation of attorneys at his firm.
Dick was equally proud of his efforts and success as a representational oil painter, his second profession. His landscapes and seascapes were owned by many private collectors, prominent corporations, and associations in the United States and Europe.
Dick loved international travel, Monhegan Island, Maine, watching professional sports, listening to Pavarotti, horses and old Westerns, and played tennis into his late 80's.
He was a member of the Hermit Club, Mayfield Country Club, Union Club, and Kirtland Country Club in Ohio, Lost Tree Club and Everglades Club in Florida, the Rolling Rock Club in Pennsylvania, and the Bohemian Club in California.
A man of firm opinions, Dick's impact and encouragement will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and the many lives he touched on his remarkable journey. Gifts in his memory may be made to the Department of Physical Education and Athletics, Development Office, Case Western Reserve University, 10900 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44106 or Monhegan Museum of Art & History, 1 Lighthouse Hill, Monhegan Island, Maine 04852.

Earlier today

My sincere condolences to the Reminger family. RTR created a lasting legacy and was certainly one-of-a-kind! I had the privilege to work at R&R from 1986 to 1995 and then again directly with RTR while he wrote "Closing Argument" after we both had moved to FL. I was gifted one of his beautiful paintings which has hung in my home for 28 years. May he rest in easy peace - he will be missed!

Yesterday

Dick was a wonderful man and truly a man of firm opinions. Whenever we had a chance to see each other - mainly with my parents Geli and Thomas - it was funny and energetic. He was extremely educated and knew a lot about Europe and especially Germany. I loved his paintings and also the way he was proud of his doing.

Fabi and my thoughts are with Billie and her family.

We extend our conndolences to the entire Reminger family.
Having spoken with Dick a few weeks ago,It was a sad surprise when we heard of Dick´s passing. We will remember him fondly. He and Billie were a wonderful couple who lived a full life. As both patient ( until my retirement 10 years ago)and friend, he was great fun as he always had an opinion and a great sense of humor about everything. Will remember his laughter and zest for life. We are glad to have been friends and will miss him.

To all the Reminders. Knew the family well with lots of memories at Mayfield and around Cleveland. Dick was a force but a gentle one. He was one of the great pillars of Cleveland and garnered respect in every endeavor. Lived his big smile when things went his way. Built a great lasting firm and wonderful kids to grow up with.
Blessings to all the family and friends.

I first met Dick when I moved to W. Palm Beach about ten years ago. I was first a neighbor then a friend where we lived. A true gentleman. I was sorry to learn of his passing. I’ll miss our conversations about the law, professional sports, travel, etc. He was truly accomplished and I always learned something from him. My sincere condolences to the entire family. I know that he’ll be sorely missed. May his memory be a blessing.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences. Mr. Reminger and I spoke just a few months ago and I was reminded again of what a good man he was and how very proud he was of his family. Not many people can boast one successful career and he had two. I am fortunate that he gave me one of his paintings; it is proudly displayed in my home.
