James Clark Obituary

James "Jim" Clark, age 85, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025 at his home in Oak Grove, Missouri.
James, "Jim" Clark was born to Harvey and Flora Clark on February 1, 1940. Jim was a devoted family man, an Army veteran, and a cherished member of his community.
Born in Clinton, Missouri, Jim was the youngest of three siblings. His sisters, Susie and Shirley, had the tall task of trying to keep Jim out of trouble - no small feat with young Jimmy. Even as an adult, Jim would give you an ornery wink as he was cracking jokes. Growing up on a farm, Jim learned a strong set of values. He learned where his food came from, he learned to use tools, and he thought every kid should spend some time on a working farm. He also learned to value and appreciate good neighbors and good friends.
Jim had many hobbies - first and foremost, spending time with his family. This time was often spent telling stories with a warm cup of coffee in hand and old photographs spread across the table. No conversation or visit was complete without a story, a piece of advice, and a hug (maybe a Werther's here and there, too). If he was not home, chances are Jim and Ginger were together, traveling the world, or gone hunting.
Beyond his beloved family, Jim's legacy is one of humor, strength, honor, and unconditional love. He dedicated his life to serving his country, his family, and his community with a full and faithful heart, treating every day of his life as a special occasion.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Susie (Bill) Kratzer and Shirley (R.T.) Heatherington.
He is survived by the love of his life, Ginger Stone; his daughters, Marnette (Joe) Jester and Lavette (Jeff) Loney; brothers-in-law, John (Becky) Roth and Marion Stone; grandchildren, Joey Jester, James (MyLissa) Grace, Kaitlyn (Ethan) Fugitt, Chris Loney, Sadie Loney, and Dylan Loney; great-grandchildren, Annaliese McGinnis, Makenzie Grace, Emmerson Grace, Elliott Grace, and Skylar Loney. He is also survived
by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Celebration of Life services were held August 23, 2025 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton with Rev. David Mills officiating. Special music included "Living In the Promiseland, The Way I Am and Peace In the Valley." Military honors were under the direction of VFW Post # 1894 and the US Army.
Services were under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, MO.
