Karen Hill Obituary

Karen Ann Hill, age 77, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025 at Country Club Care Center in Warrensburg, Missouri. .

Karen Ann Davis Hill was born in Clinton, MO on September 16, 1947. She was the fifth child of six, born to Richard and Frances Caldwell Davis. She was always proud that she was a twin to Karl. She transitioned to heaven on September 12, 2025.

Karen spent her early childhood on the Caldwell ancestral farm in western Henry County. Her early education was in a One Room country School. When she was 12 her family moved to Clinton, Mo and she continued her education in Clinton. Karen married Pat Hill on September 23, 2000. They were married for 15 years until his death.

During high school, she worked in the Kitchen at Wetzel Osteopathic Hospital, then in 1972, she moved to Golden Valley and continued working in the kitchen for 48 years. She faithfully moved the tray cart up and down the elevator for breakfast and lunch daily. Karen took her job seriously and worked hard to adapt and overcome challenges throughout the years. Karen worked diligently to meet changing requirements and mastered the annual test on the computer to prove her competencies. Karen was a rule follower. You would often see her visiting old "White Oak" community friends when they were hospitalized. She also would call her family and share news she gained from the local Daily Democrat.

Karen also had a stubborn steak. This quality manifested in her learning to drive a car as an adult and to meet other challenges of life. She was a thrifty person, who saved her earnings faithfully, and spent money wisely. But when she found a house she wanted, she bought it. When she found a car she wanted, she bought it.

After Karen celebrated her retirement, she often walked around the neighborhood and over a mile to the post office to get exercise. She also had a reclining stationary bicycle she rode while watching TV.

Karen loved Popcorn, reading Christian fiction, and daily listened to James Earl Jones read the Bible from her computer. Karen was also an avid Chiefs and Royals fan and knew the players and stats. She would argue about who was the best player and what team would be in the playoffs.

Karen loved her family and was proud of her 14 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and older brother, Richard. Karen is survived by her twin, Karl Davis of Lee's Summit, her sisters. Marcile Lewis, and Wanda Evans of Warrensburg and Mary Lou Riley of Atchison Kansas as well as 14 nephews and nieces.

A Celebration of Life was held October 4, 2025 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton with Pastor Jacob Conner officiating. Special music included "The Best Is Yet to Come, Never Been More Thankful, Homecoming and I'll Fly Away." Private family inurnment followed in White Oak Cemetery, Urich, MO.

Services were under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, MO.
