CAROLE PHELPS Sterling - Carole A. (Brothers) Phelps, 88, passed peacefully on Friday, December 12, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester following a period of declining health. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 25 years Arthur J. Phelps. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Gagne of Sterling; generations of nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends. She is predeceased by her brothers Raymond Brothers and Andrew C. Brothers Jr. Daughter of the late Andrew and Florence (Neault) Brothers, Carole was born, raised, and educated in Clinton. In addition to being a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker, Carole spent her professional career as a quality control assistant for Clinton Plastics and later Kelly Plastics until retiring. A talented musician, Carole played the organ and held membership with Fitchburg Music Club. She was a woman of great faith and devout member of St. Richard of Chichester Parish in Sterling. Among her many hobbies and interests, Carole enjoyed listening to audio books, Ovation movies, and completing crossword puzzles. The love of Carole's life was her grandcat, Lilly, whom she adored for 13 years. Thoughtful, kind, and generous, Carole will be forever missed and remembered lovingly by all. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge St., Sterling, with burial following in Hillside Cemetery, Sterling. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton.
