JOHN INNAMORATI Obituary

JOHN INNAMORATI CLINTON - John Baptist Innamorati, 89, passed peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, October 23, 2023, at the Life Care Center of Leominster. He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Carol (Fusco) Innamorati; their children & spouses, Debra Carroll of Littleton, CO; Diane & Kevin McNamara of Hudson; Ann & Paul Bailey of Amherst, NH; Albert & Jane Innamorati of Carlisle; and David & Sandra Innamorati of Rutland; and his two brothers, Albert Innamorati and his wife Judy of Sterling; and David Freel & Kathy Cardoza of Clinton. He leaves his 11 adoring grandchildren, Lauren, Jenna, Monica, Jeffrey, Randall, Michael, Ryan, Steven, Katherine, Daniel, and Alissa; 10 great-grandchildren, Sydney, Taylor, Ryan, Margaret, Logan, Azade, Elliott, Iris, William and Charlotte; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends. He is pre-deceased by his parents, Albert J. Innamorati, Anna (Porciello) Innamorati-Freel, and stepfather David Freel. A proud lifelong Clintonian, John was a graduate of Clinton High School, Class of 1953. He began his prestigious professional career working as a General Contractor at his family business, Innamorati Brothers Construction. John and his brother Albert would later establish I & I Construction in Clinton until retiring. They constructed major projects including schools, churches, office buildings, and commercial properties throughout central Massachusetts. John worked after retirement as Clerk of the Works on the construction of the Clinton High School, the Clinton Senior Center and the renovation of the Thayer Public Library in Lancaster. John was a man of great faith and devotion, a life-long member of St. John the Guardian of Our Lady Parish. He joyfully served as a consultant of the Church Restoration Committee where he oversaw the project from its fund-raising inception to the last polish of the pews before the dedication. Always active, he was an avid skier and cyclist, having notably accomplished two cross-country excursions on his 20-speed bicycle at the ages of 67 and 70 respectively. Above all, John was a devoted family man, a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Calling hours will be held from 4 until 7 PM on Sunday, October 29, 2023, in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Monday, October 30, 2023, in St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St., Clinton, with burial to follow in St. John's Cemetery, Lancaster. I was a class mate and football team mate with "Nemo." We graduated together from CHS in '53.
We remained good friends through the years, attending class reunions. He was always a most loyal friend and team mate. His leadership and athletic ability was most evident on the football field. My condolences to the entire Innamorati family. R.I.P my friend.
