John and his brother Albert would later establish I & I Construction in Clinton until retiring. They constructed major projects including schools, churches, office buildings, and commercial properties throughout central Massachusetts. John worked after retirement as Clerk of the Works on the construction of the Clinton High School, the Clinton Senior Center and the renovation of the Thayer Public Library in Lancaster.
John was a man of great faith and devotion, a life-long member of St. John the Guardian of Our Lady Parish. He joyfully served as a consultant of the Church Restoration Committee where he oversaw the project from its fund-raising inception to the last polish of the pews before the dedication. Always active, he was an avid skier and cyclist, having notably accomplished two cross-country excursions on his 20-speed bicycle at the ages of 67 and 70 respectively. Above all, John was a devoted family man, a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
