MICHEAL L. SAWYER Micheal L. Sawyer passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 18, 2026, surrounded by the love and support of his family. He was 65. Born in Worcester and raised in Berlin, Mike was the son of Lawrence "Skip" and the late Rose Marie (Spinney) Sawyer. From a young age, Mike worked alongside his father in the day-to-day operations of Skip Sawyer and Sons. With a strong work ethic, determination, and the skills he learned early on, Mike went on to start his own business, Mike Sawyer Contracting, Inc., in 1987. For more than 38 years, Mike proudly served Berlin and the surrounding communities with integrity, reliability, and quality workmanship alongside lifelong friend Charlie Pitard. Mike took great pride in his work and was especially proud to pass on these values to his sons, who worked alongside him. In earlier years, Mike enjoyed stock car racing at Westborough and Thompson Speedways, as well as skiing and snowmobiling. Above all else, Mike found his greatest satisfaction in a job well done; he truly lived to work. A lifelong resident of Berlin, Mike was deeply proud of his community and cherished the many longtime residents he considered friends. His quiet generosity, strength, and willingness to help others will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Janet; two sons, Guy and Jonathan; father, Skip; brother, Larry; and sister, Linda. He also leaves behind a niece, nephews, a great-nephew, great-nieces, and Sara Perry, Guy's longtime girlfriend. Following Mike's wishes, a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 31st, in the First Parish Church of Berlin, 24 Central Street, Berlin.
