Robert E. Durost Jr.

ROBERT E. DUROST JR. LANCASTER - Robert E. Durost Jr., 77, passed peacefully on Monday, July 1, 2024. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Susan (Godin) Durost; their children and spouses, Sandy Lieteau and Cheryl; Robert E. Durost III and Sharla; Melanie McCormick and Tim; Ron Durost; and Suzanne Tremblay and Drew; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; generations of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He is predeceased by his grandson Alexander Murphy and siblings, Wayne, Gloria, John, and Ronald Durost. Bob was born in Fort Fairfield, Maine, son of the late Robert Sr. and Ella (Argraves) Durost. As a youngster he held fond memories of spending summer vacations visiting the family farm in Tinker, New Brunswick, Canada. After graduating from Wachusett Regional High School, class of 1966, Bob was inducted into the United States Army and proudly served our nation. He returned home to complete auto mechanic and welding certifications from Worcester Trade School and began his lifelong career as a welder. Bob worked for Ray-O-Vac in Clinton, later with Koehler Manufacturing in Marlborough, and Future Electronics in Bolton, from where he ultimately retired. Among his many hobbies, Bob enjoyed playing Pitch, bowling, fishing and gardening. He was a known dedicated sport fan who cheered faithfully for his New York Yankees and Boston Celtics. Above all, he was happiest in the company of his family and will be forever remembered as a devoted husband, loving, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. A calling hour will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. with a Funeral Service celebrated at 12:30 p.m. in Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton.
