Charles Stewart Kevin McGrigor of Pawley's Island, South Carolina, died on Nov. 13, 2025.
Born in Havana, Cuba, Carlos Kevin's early years were spent living there until he and his family fled Cuba in 1960. Throughout his life, he was always proud of his Cuban heritage. He later became the chef at The Library, working at both their Myrtle Beach and US Virgin Islands locations. From there, he continued as executive Cchef at Collector's Cafe, also in Myrtle Beach, where he created many delicious dishes, especially his signature, original scallop cakes, which always received rave reviews.
He was predeceased by his mother, Jane Vann McGrigor, a Clinton native, and his father, Carlos Alberto McGrigor of Santander, Spain.
