Dennis Wayne Hixson
HARRELLS — Dennis Wayne Hixson, 65, of 6511 Tomahawk Hwy., went gently on July 2, 2022, at home.
Born Feb. 5, 1957, in Douglas County, Omaha, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents Dana and Nellie Hixson, as well as a sister, Melinda deceased at birth, and the son of his heart, Robert McCloud Jr.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Joanne McPhail Anders Hixson of the home, stepson, Kenan Anders of Blaine, WA, siblings, Vicky Durney of Indian Trail, S.C., Janice Ekman of Harrisburg, N.C., Andy Hixson, and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9, at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Garland. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 12:45-1:45 p.m. Friends and family are invited to the home afterward. A private burial will be held at a later date and time.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401, or Cetenary United Methodist Church at 401 Tomahawk Hwy., Harrells, NC 28444.
