Linda Faye Coley Jackson, 78, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023, at her home in Clinton.
Faye was born on Sept. 17, 1944, in Sampson County to Henry and Mary Jones Coley and was the youngest of nine children. She was married to her best friend and love of her life, Frank Jackson, for 58 years. Their love for each other, as well as their love for the Lord, leaves a lasting legacy for their children, Terri and Tracy. Faye and Frank were Charter Members of The Journey, a church in the Plainview Community of Sampson County, which they helped start in 2006. "Nana" was known for her gift of hospitality and her good cooking. She was a Supervisor for the Piggly-Wiggly Deli-Bakery for over 25 years. This gave her the opportunity to feed just about everyone in Sampson County. More than anything she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandson. Her undying love for her family was evident to all!
Faye is survived by her daughter, Terri Jackson Shaffer, and husband, Andy of Dunn, and son, Tracy Jackson, and wife, Natalie, of Turkey; two sisters: Hilda Coley Lindsay of Clinton, and Janet Coley Cottle of Goldsboro; seven grandchildren: Josh Shaffer and wife, Morgan, Meagan Shaffer Perry and husband, Preston, Olivia Shaffer Kelly and husband, Tanner, Adam Jackson and wife, Adrianna, Lucas Jackson, Noah Jackson, and Lydia Jackson; and a great-grandson, Bentley. She was also excited about her soon-to-be new great-grandbaby girl that is on the way.
In addition to her parents and husband, Frank, Faye was preceded in death by four sisters: Henrietta Coley Tew, Edna Coley McLemore, Mildred Coley Lancaster, and Rachel Coley Daniels; two brothers: James Coley, and Earl Coley.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. at the Clinton Community Church Life Center with the Rev. Dwight Dunning, Rev. Andy Shaffer, and Rev. Terri Shaffer officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 5:30 p.m., at the Life Center. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday morning, at 11 a.m. in the Springvale Section of Clinton Cemetery with the Rev. Randall Reece officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Journey, P.O. Box 30, Dunn, NC 28335.
