Joe Pray Obituary

Joe Nathan Pray, 73, of Sandusky, Ohio, departed this life on Friday morning June 8, 2012, when the Lord called him home.
He was born on September 28, 1938, in Allenhurst to Quincy Pray and Elizabeth Howell Pray. He received his education in the public schools of Liberty County.
At an early age, Joe joined the Baconton Missionary Baptist Church of Walthourville. As an adult, he moved to Sandusky where he worked faithfully for many years as a general laborer. On Feb. 24, 1979, Joe was joined in holy matrimony to the late Velma M. Cleveland Pray.
He was a member of Ebenezer Church of God in Christ in Fremont, Ohio. He enjoyed fishing, family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. A true man of God and family, Joe was also known for his large smile.
Joe leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Lee Curtis (Gretta) Pray of Waynesboro, Miss., and Larry Williams of Walthourville; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother Pasco Pray of Indian Trail, N.C.; sisters, Janie Moore of Hampton, Va., Shirley Pray (James) Frasier, of Walthourville and Gwendolyn Smith of Rockledge, Fla.; a devoted friend Karen Hall of Sandusky; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lee Curtis Pray and Herbert Pray.
Friends may call from noon until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. Friday, June 15, at Toft Funeral Home and Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, Ohio 44870. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
