I didn't get to know Dylan very well. But we went to school together and for a short time, we worked together at Blackjack Pizza. He was always so kind and really had a good sense of humor. This is a real tragedy. I'm so sorry to not have him here anymore.

Dear Christina and Ron,
We are absolutely heart broken for your family. No parent should endure this kind of pain and loss. We are praying for your family and added your name to the prayer roll at the LDS temple in Fort Collins and here in Gilbert. We love you and believe you will be together again someday.
Love,
Aaron and Becca Bickham

Dylan played Fever basketball and 9th-grade basketball at Liberty Common with our son Philip. Philip liked Dylan, and we remember him as quiet, respectful young man and a good ball handler. We are so sad for the Salas family and pray that God touches you with His tender mercies.

Oh my dear, sweet Chris, Ron, and Emma,
You have all been constantly in both Skip's and my prayers. I can hardly breathe each time I think of Dylan and all of you. I wish that I could make it better, but that is out our hands. I pray that the Lord showers you with his love, and the grace to help you at every step and breath that you take.

I am not sure even where to begin... I have so many fun memories of the times we got to spend with Dylan. Whether it was seeing him play on the soccer field or basketball court or hanging out at our house... He was always so fun-loving, cracking jokes and was always a fun kid to be around. My son James and him were close and formed a very special bond. Dylan always supported James' music and would often come to see him perform around town. In 8th grade, Dylan got the entire Varsity Basketball team to make funny signs they all held up that said, "James...Will You Marry Me?" while James was singing during the talent show. James saved that sign Dylan made for him all throughout high school...
Another funny memory was before 9th grade, when Dylan, Trey and James stayed down at my parents house during a Summer Basketball tournament in Denver. Dylan and Trey wanted a cold soda so had the bright idea of putting some sodas in my parents deep freezer... well, you can definitely figure that they forgot all about the sodas they left and then the next day we discovered that they had all exploded!! We called that the "Soda Incident of 2012!"
He loved coming over to our house to play hoops and took my younger son Robbie under his wing and taught him to "PLAY YOUR SIZE, ROBBIE!!"
I was lucky enough to get to spend a little time with Dylan a few months ago and it was great to talk to him and hear him joke and laugh as always...
Dylan will always have a very special place in my family's heart and we will think of him and always remember the bright light that he carried with him no matter where he was in life...
Ron, Christina and Emma... you are in our thoughts and prayers! We are sending you our love and comforting light during this time of utter darkness...
Love you all very much!!

How do I even begin. Dylan was such a huge and amazing part of our family. He will be so dearly missed. I'm thankful to hold so many wonderful memories in my heart. His laugh and smile that light up his whole face will be a favorite memory. Dylan was always so proud of his family. He made such an effort to connect with everyone of all ages. He was never bothered to be followed and pestered by countless little people at family events and was usually found at some point in the day snuggled next to his Grandma Rael watching whatever Denver team was playing ball that day. Dylan always new the newest stats of the Minnesota Vikings so he could eagerly chat with me about the latest sports gossip. Dylan's life was too short but thankfully he lived it large. I'm so happy he was such a big part of so many lives. I'm so blessed to have had the time I had and so thankful I remember so vividly the last hug we shared. I love you Dylan Salas. Thanks for everything you brought to my life. Hillary

Salas Family,
We only lived next door a few years but I have memories of Dylan loading up baseball gear, shooting hoops, and getting ready to go to Scouts. He grew up to be such a handsome young man and I am just heartbroken to hear this news. We are praying for some sort of peace during this healing process and the attempts to make some sense of all of this and why he was called home so soon.
