Don Allan was born in Connecticut, September 5, 1935 and passed away peacefully in his home in Northglenn, CO on January 29, 2021 with his wife, Carla, and family by his side. He moved with his family to Glenwood Springs, CO in 1945. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy in 1955 and was proud to serve his county. He has two brothers, Tom and Alan, in Arizona, his sister, Judy, in Georgia and sister, Betty, in Denver, CO. Don moved to Idaho Springs in 1975 where he met his lovely wife Carla. Don and Carla were amazing parents to Tammy, Craig, Mike, Cindy, and Jeannie. He had a deep love and passion for his family, friends, basketball, fastpitch softball, fishing, photography and Clear Creek County. Don was a Clear Creek County Paramedic, Corner and an Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge in Idaho Springs for many years. Don participated in many clubs in town, volunteered at the Idaho Springs Historical Society where you can see many of his photos he recreated and enhanced of the town. He also participated in many plays with the Mill Creek Valley Historical Society. Don will be missed deeply by so many.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 starting at 11am at the Idaho Springs Elks Lodge. A three-volley salute will honor Don at 1300 hours. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to the Mount Evans Home Health Care and Hospice.
