James Todd Obituary

It is with a broken heart that we announce the death of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, James R. Todd Jr., on February 3rd, at the age of 77. The highlight of Jim's life was his marriage to the love of his life, Elsie (Tomlinson). They shared their deep love for each other for over 54 years.
Jim was born in 1947 to Jim and Lois Todd in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. After high school, he attended Parsons College and Millersville State College to play baseball. He was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 1969. Jim played five years in the minor leagues and six years in the major leagues for the Cubs, A's, and Mariners. He had his best season with the A's in 1975.
After his baseball career, Jim worked in the business world and started his own real estate appraisal company. Jim was also a mentor and coach to his daughters and grandchildren, who all share a similar love for the game. His 15 years of coaching impacted the lives of many young athletes.
In retirement, Jim and Elsie enjoyed golf, travel, music, dancing, and mostly each other with their never ending zest for life. They were devoted to their two daughters, Natalie Odette-Baxley and Ashley Buttshaw and their five grandchildren Grant, Hailey, Makayla, Mikey, and Jimmy. He is also survived by his son-in-law, William Baxley and his siblings, Cindy Gebhard and Don Todd.
Jim will be missed beyond words by everyone who knew him. We love you Toddy.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 13th at 1 pm at the PACE Center, 20000 Pikes Peak Avenue Parker, CO 80138. Reception immediately following. I had the pleasure of coaching the Legend with Jim for several years. He was a great coach and mentor to the players, always with their best interest at heart and in action.

Todd Family I was saddened to hear of Jim´s passing. We were teammates on the basketball and baseball team at Millersville. Jim was a great shooter on the court and a fine hitter and pitcher on the diamond. As good as he was as an athlete he was also a great teammate and friend. We had some great times in college.RIP my friend

Helping Toddy and Elsie find Six Pack, their Bassett hound that had wandered off with Ray Burris' dog Misty in Spring Training in 1974. And enjoying Toddy's BBQ skills.
We're sorry to have lost touch over the years, and send our love to Elsie and her family.
Toddy was a great Guy.

My deepest sympathy to Elsie and family on the passing of Jim. I knew Elsie at Millersville while I was in the Education Department. I followed Jim´s baseball career because Jim´s dad was my driver ed teacherand baseball coach at Manor High in Millersville. God Bless. Bill Brackbill

Such sweet memories of both Jim and Elsie at the height of Jim´s baseball career in AZ. What fun we all had at the house parties spinning records, singing and dancing till the wee hours! My deepest sympathies to you Elsie, the girls and family. Mary
