Kathleen Stanford Obituary

Kathleen "Kathy" Stanford (née Southard), born November 12, 1953, in Fukuoka, Japan, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2025, in Thornton, Colorado.
The beloved daughter of Paul and Jessie (Laurent) Southard, Kathy grew up in Commerce City, Colorado, alongside (and survived by) her sisters Becky Gregg and Nancy Chesnutt. Fondly known as the Southard sisters, their bond has remained strong throughout their lives. Kathy resided in Thornton for the past 50 years, where she built a life filled with love and purpose.
A graduate of Adams City High School, Kathy pursued her passion for numbers by earning an associate's degree in accounting from Front Range Community College. She began her career at Big A Auto Parts' corporate office, traveling across the country to train franchisees in accounting software. Later, she transitioned to the real estate industry, working as a mortgage processor and closer for First American Heritage Title Company. Kathy was known for her dedication to her clients and her meticulous attention to detail throughout her professional journey.
Kathy found joy in creative pursuits such as stamping and jewelry-making. Her love of flowers was evident in her cherished rose garden and her skillful arrangements with silk blooms. She also devoted herself to serving others through North Metro Church in Thornton, where she greeted members and visitors alike with warmth and encouragement. Her hugs and kind words left a lasting impact on many within her church community.
Memorial donations may be made in Kathy's memory to White Flower Foundation, a foundation supporting Alzheimer's research. To give, go to whiteflowerfoundation.org "Donate" or North Metro Church.
Kathy will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort and inspiration to those whose lives she touched.
