Phillip Aragon Obituary
Philip Aragon, age 68, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday August 29, 2025, in his home in Brighton, Colorado.
Philip was born on April 9, 1957, to Pete Aragon and Adelina Montoya in Brighton, Colorado and was the baby of 12 siblings. He graduated from Brighton High School in June of 1976. Shortly after high school he joined the United States Army and served from 1977-1983. During his time in the service, he was part of the 53rd Military Police Batalion stationed in Ft. Bragg, North Carlina. He also had Police training and was a Food specialist during his time there. He received Honorable discharge in March of 1983.
While in the reserves he met the love of his life Joyce Vigil. They married on April 9, 1983, in Brighton, Colorado. They loved to go camping and fishing together and were very active in their church community. They were unable to have any children of their own but were blessed with so many children that passed through their lives.
Philip worked as a customer service representative at Wheelers in the early 80's. He went on to be a part of the City of Brighton, Park and Rec division and shipping and receiving clerk for Colorado Floral in the late 80's. After many years of working as a security officer in different companies, he found what would become the best job that suited him well. He became the Campus security for Brighton High School in 1999. He loved his students at BHS so very much. He was always ready for what each day had in store for him. He always looked to make a difference in the students' lives at Brighton High. He impacted so many lives whether it was cruzing others to their classes, jam sessions listening to Carlos Santana on his golf cart, escorting kids off the premises or just the friendly smile that you needed that day. The legacy that he leaves will forever be installed in our hearts and his memory will never be forgotten.
Phil was an incredible man of God who served as elder/deacon for nearly 20 years at Pathway Assembly of God. He continued in that role as Pathway became Fearless Church. His love and commitment to God, his church, his family, friends and the Brighton community serves as a reminder of what a faithful follower of Christ embodies.
Music was a very important part of Phil's life. He loved playing music with his brother Abel and supporting Abels band every chance he could. You would find him playing his congas and jamming out to Carlos Santana, playing the drums and guitar to his old coritos.
Philip is survived by his son Jose Ulloa; siblings Nick Aragon (Shirley), Emily Chavez (Rudy), Abel Aragon (Maria), Magi Sanchez (Rodrigo) and 31 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Joyce Aragon; both parents Pete and Adelina Aragon; siblings Ted, Johnny, Nora, Annie, Phil, Tony and Ray Aragon.
Family and friends are encouraged to be apart of his Celebration of Life Wednesday September 10th, 10 a.m. at The Healing Place Church located at 3599 E Bridge St. in Brighton, Colorado.
You will be missed, and your memory will live on forever Uncle Phil!!
