Karin Jones, 83

Karin May Jones, a long time resident of Moses Lake, passed away on November 29, 2025. She is now in heaven with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.



Karin was born on May 8, 1942, in Seattle, Washington, to Carl and Madge Schoenfeld and grew up on Mercer Island, Washington. She graduated from Mercer Island High School in 1960. After high school, she earned degrees from both Kaiser School of Nursing in Oakland and Western Baptist Bible College in El Cerrito, California.



She met her future husband, Ken Jones at Western Baptist and they were married in Bellevue, Washington, on August 30, 1966. Karin worked as a registered nurse at William Beaumont General Hospital in El Paso, Texas where Ken was serving in the US Army until the birth of their first son, Kevin. Following Ken's military service, they moved to Moses Lake, Washington in 1970 where they lived until Ken's passing in 2022.



Karin and Ken raised their two sons, Kevin and Kraig, on a small farm on the outskirts of town, where they raised sheep and had a large vegetable garden and also a small orchard.



Karin spent her time canning many fruits and vegetables and making juices and jams all of which she loved to share with others. She also enjoyed entering her canning in the Grant County Fair where she won numerous awards.



Karin's love language was gift-giving which she demonstrated through her generosity to family, friends and those in their church, especially during the holidays.



Karin was preceded in death by her husband (Ken), her parents (Carl and Madge Schoenfeld) and is survived by her sons Kevin (Debbi) and Kraig (Diana), and three grandchildren Savanna, Adam, and Ainsley.

A Celebration of Life service will be held December 6, at 1:00 at Journey Church, 303 E. Nelson Road.
