Quinn Chlarson Obituary

Quinn Jewel Chlarson, 92

Quinn Jewel Chlarson, of Ephrata, Washington, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025, in Soap Lake, Washington.

He was born on September 20, 1933, in Tremonton, Utah, to Lyman Edward Chlarson and LaVoy Matilda Hunsaker, joining five sisters and two brothers. Quinn grew up in Honeyville, Utah, where he was raised with a deep love of faith, family, and hard work-values that would define his life.

When Quinn was eight years old, his father purchased a large ranch in Robertson, Wyoming, that became his second home. He spent many long spring and summer days working alongside his dad digging ditches, fencing pastures, wrangling horses, and moving cattle. In later years, his own young family would spend their summers at the ranch, where countless cherished memories were made.

Quinn graduated from Box Elder High School in Brigham City, Utah, in 1951, where he met the beautiful FFA Sweetheart, Anne Fredrickson, while serving as FFA President. He later attended Utah State University while waiting for his "sweetheart" to graduate.

On June 19, 1953, Quinn and Anne were married in the Logan Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for time and all eternity. He moved his bride to Honeyville, where they began their life's journey together and started their family.

Quinn began his career hauling cattle for his father's ranching business in Honeyville, Utah, and at their Robertson, Wyoming ranch-sparking a lifelong passion for trucking. His strong and tireless work ethic blessed his family as he taught by example the value of doing more than is asked and putting in an honest day's work. He will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, patience, forgiveness, kindness, and a good-natured tease now and then.

In 1966, life's circumstances moved Quinn and his young family to Ephrata, Washington, where they finished raising their children while building lifelong friendships that would last the remainder of their years.

Together, Quinn and Anne shared 71 wonderful years, raised seven children, and faced the trials and blessings of life hand in hand. Their marriage was a testament to their family that true love is rooted in enduring commitment.

A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Quinn lived his faith quietly and faithfully through service, humility, and compassion. He and Anne cherished the years they served together in the Columbia River Temple, grateful for the opportunity to serve the Lord and strengthen their testimony. Their service continues to bless their posterity through their example of love and devotion to the gospel.

He is survived by his children Annise Chlarson, Travis Q. Chlarson (Susan) of Walla Walla, WA, Marion Wyman (Michael) of Moses Lake, WA, Barbie Misrasi (Ray) of Bear River, UT, LaVoy Key (Alan) of Ephrata, WA, Jana Lee Richmond (Alan) of Dike, TX, and Cara Lynn Dickson (Ryan) of Stockton, CA, along with 30 grandchildren,90 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, all who cherish his memory and example.

He was preceded in death by his sweetheart, Anne Fredrickson Chlarson; his parents, Lyman and LaVoy Chlarson; his sisters, Berma Orme, Ila LaJune Rasmussen, Dona Rae Burt, Joyce Frisby, and Uleah Flamm; his brothers Varsel Chlarson, and Cecil Chlarson, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 4:00–6:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ephrata, Washington.

Quinn will take one last road trip along with his sweetheart, Anne to Honeyville, Utah where a graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Honeyville City Cemetery. Quinn and Anne will be laid to rest together there until our Lord and Savior comes again.
