OLGA NICOLE VETER

Our mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother Olga Veter passed away quietly in her sleep after a long battle with heart disease. She was a woman of many talents and had many adventures in her life. Born in Konigsberg, Germany, on Oct. 31, 1943, mom would go on to be a policewoman, an Army reservist, a teacher of many subjects for over 30 years, a caregiver and was someone who would be there for just about anyone. Mom was multilingual and was fluent in four languages - English, Russian, French and Spanish. Mom was also a very good musician who played the piano, the guitar, the mandolin, the harmonica, and the ukulele. She sponsored many children around the world for many years, donated to countless animal charities, took in animals that needed homes, and tutored kids in her neighborhood that needed a little extra help. Up until she couldn’t do it anymore, mom was an avid gardener who took particular pride in her roses, irises, and berry bushes. She was always happy to get visitors and would greet people with a smile and an offer of fish head soup (yuck) if it was cooking that day.

Olga (mom) is survived by her four children, Mark, Tanya, Andrew and Gregory; as well as her daughter-in-law, Darleen; son-in-law, Scott; and daughter-in-law, LaVada. Mom also is survived by her 12 grandchildren, Matthew, Anthony, Daniel, Nicole, Rachel, Erin, Kieran, Owen, Ryan, Jimmy, Elijah and Kial. Lastly she is survived by six great-grandchildren, Layla, Mishka, William, Natalie, Samantha and Max.

Mom will be greatly missed and her passing has already left a deep hole in our hearts. She was 79.
