Alan Poulas Obituary
BELLWOOD - Alan Poulas, 51, of Bellwood, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012, in David City.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Svoboda Funeral Home South Chapel with Pastor Ruth Boetcher officiating.
Visitation will be today from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Military graveside services will be conducted in Schuyler Cemetery.
Alan was born Nov. 10, 1960, to Melvin and Louise (Lueke) Poulas in Schuyler. He attended grade school at District 5R and graduated from Schuyler High School in 1980. After high school, Alan served in the U.S. Navy from 1982 to 1986. Later he attended truck driving school in Norfolk where he trained for his eventual career as a truckdriver. Alan loved fishing, hunting, four wheeling and spending time with his nieces and nephew.
Alan is survived by his brothers, Roger (Sandy) Poulas, of Springfield, Ohio, and Gary (Theresa) Poulas, of Bellwood; nieces, Katelyn, Ciera, and Emily Poulas, of Bellwood; and nephew, Gunner Poulas, of Bellwood; daughter, Meghan Poulas, of Lincoln; and aunt, Anita Poulas, of Fremont.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and step-mother, Roma Poulas.
Memorials are suggested to Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln.
Svoboda Funeral Home, in Schuyler, is in charge of arrangements.
