HUMPHREY - Austin Steven Classen, 12, of Humphrey, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, in rural Humphrey of injuries resulting from an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey with Father Tom Bauwens officiating. Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Humphrey.
Visitation will be 3-8:30 p.m. Wednesday with a 3 p.m. Christian Mothers Rosary and 7 p.m. Scripture Service and continues 9-10:30 a.m. Thursday all at St. Francis Catholic Church.
Austin was born June 23, 1996, in Norfolk, to Michael E. and Sandra K. (Labenz) Classen. He was a member of the 6th grade class at St. Francis School in Humphrey. He lived with his parents and brothers in rural Humphrey.
He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, graduated from the DARE Program, was a student manager for the St. Francis varsity football and basketball teams, played midget football and was on the 6th grade basketball team, graduated from Hunter Safety Class, and enjoyed video games and playing football with his cousins.
Austin is survived by his parents, Michael and Sandra Classen; brothers, Derek, Trent and Nathan all of Humphrey; grandparents, Victor and Alice Labenz of Humphrey and Marvin and Norma Jane Classen of Humphrey.
Memorials are suggested to the Austin S. Classen Scholarship Fund of St. Francis School.
Duesman Funeral Chapel in Humphrey is in charge of arrangements.
