VERDIGRE - Dorothy A. Jacot, of Verdigre, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at Alpine Village Retirement Center in Verdigre, at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 19 days.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Verdigre. Father Doug Scheinost will officiate with burial in St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery in Verdigre.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Brockhaus Funeral Home in Verdigre with a 7:30 p.m. Wake Service.
Dorothy Ann Jacot was born Feb. 27, 1925, to Adam and Mary (Wesselman) Stoural. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. She married Joseph Jacot Jr. on Nov. 28, 1946, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Verdigre. Five children were born to this union; David, Richard, Mary, Catherine and Steven. Dorothy's love of the Lord led her to enjoy her family, nature, animals (especially her faithful companion CoCo), birds and music. She was a member of the St. Wenceslaus Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters of the America's.
She is survived by her children, David (Pat) Jacot, of Sioux Falls, S.D., Richard (Ann) Jacot, of Albion, Mary (Robert) Jones, of Aurora, Ill., Catherine Smith, of Columbus, and Steven (Betty) Jacot, of Verdigre; 13 grandchildren, Julie (Mark) Bickett, Jill (Tracy) Staeffler, Beth (Walter) Whiteside, Lisa (Ted) Benit, Adam Jacot, Andera (Dan) Spanier, Eric (Mary) Konken, Scott Jones, Chris Vesely, Laura (Terry) Nickolite, Megan (Brad) Carlson, Joshua and Justin Jacot; 12 great-grandchildren, Erin and Lauren Bickett, Levi Staeffler, Jordan Kopal and Elliot Whiteside, Liam and Emery Benit, Connor Konken, Mia Spanier, Ethan and Leighton Vesely, Kendall Nickolite and a great-grandchild, expected in May; sister, Patricia Stockholm; and a host of relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; parents, Adam and Mary Stoural; brother-in-law, Don Stockholm; nephew, Donald Stockholm Jr.; niece, Mary Sue Stockholm; and son-in-law, Steve Smith.
