Edgar Gates Obituary
Edgar Charles Gates, age 96, of Columbus, died Monday, October 27, 2025, at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 7, at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. Visitation is on Thursday, from 4 to 6 p.m., at McKown Funeral Home, with a 6 p.m. Vigil to follow. Visitation continues Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until service time at St. Bonaventure Church. Interment is in Roselawn Cemetery with Military Honors by The American Legion, Hartman Post 84 Honor Guard. Condolences at www.mckownfuneralhome.com.

I had the pleasure of meeting Edgar through one of his family members. I feel blessed that I had a chance to spend time with a truly kind individual that really never met a stranger. Edgar always had time to share conversations, time, and a smile. He will truly be missed by many. Prayers for all the family of Edgar.
