Elizabeth Brockhaus Obituary

HUMPHREY -- Elizabeth M. Brockhaus, 82, of Humphrey, died June 25, 2015, at Countryside Home in Madison.

All services are at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey. Visitations will be 5-8 p.m. today, with a 5 p.m. rosary and a 7:30 p.m. scripture service. Visitation will continue from 9-10 a.m. Monday. Mass of Christian of burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday with Fr. Wayne Pavela as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.

Elizabeth was born Dec. 7, 1932, at West Point to John and Catherine (Ortmeier) Stalp. She attended and graduated in 1950 from Guardian Angel's High School in West Point.

On Sept. 9, 1961, she was united in marriage to George A. Brockhaus at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point and they shared farming together.

She was a member of the Christian Mother Society, worked in the St. Francis School cafeteria, enjoyed golfing, blowing, piano playing, playing cards, gardening and shared love with her grandchildren.

Elizabeth was known for her sweet personality and kindness, always placing others above herself.

Surviving are her husband, George; son, Patrick and Denise Brockhaus of Humphrey; daughter, Janet Blum of Gretna; five grandchildren; brother, Paul (Mary Clare) Stalp; and brother-in-law, Ray Meiergerd.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Jacob Blum, brother John Stalp and sisters Margaret Heimann and Genevieve Meiergert.
