Fern L. Flamme, age 90 of Columbus, died Sept. 6, 2018, at Mory's Haven.
Graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 10 at Roselawn Cemetery in Columbus.
Fern L. Flamme was born Nov. 14, 1927, in Lewistown, Montana, to William and Mathilda (Plath) Hoshor. She grew up in Columbus and graduated from Kramer High School in 1945. Fern married Vincent Long on Oct. 8, 1947, in Columbus. Vincent died on April 5, 1974. She later married Frederick Fritz Flamme on March 13, 1976, at the First United Methodist Church in Columbus. Fern worked for J.C. Penney and Citizens Bank and Trust for 25 years. She served as past president of the Lincoln School PTA and was a former member of the ABWA, AARP and the Legion Auxiliary. Fern was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by son Tom (Gina) Long of Columbus, son Allen (Dena) Long of Bruno, step-daughter Deb (Bruce) Kosch of Columbus, step-daughter Pam Brandt (Steve) of Columbus, step-son Kevin Flamme of Columbus, step-daughter Michaele (Mitch) Kasper of Columbus; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents William and Mathilda Hoshor, first husband Vincent Long, second husband Frederick Fritz Flamme; son Don Long, son Bob Long; brothers Wayne Hoshor and Everett Hoshor, sisters Wilma McKown, Lucille Kuhr and an infant sister.
