COLUMBUS -- Frances M. Kush, 77, of Columbus, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at Columbus Community Hospital.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 562 17th Ave, in Columbus. Interment will be at St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Columbus.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today and 9-10 a.m. Monday, both at St. Anthony Catholic Church. There will be a 6 p.m. vigil today.
Frances was born Dec. 3, 1936, in Farwell, to John and Rose (Robak) Koperski. She grew up in Farwell. She married Robert A. Kush on Aug. 3, 1955, in Farwell. They lived in Ord, West Point, Grand Island and Lexington before moving to Columbus in 1980. Frances was a member of St. Anthony Church. She worked for Columbus Public School System at the Middle School. Frances lived for and enjoyed her family.
Frances is survived by daughter Debra L. (Ron) Greenwalt of Grand Island, son Timothy R. Kush of Columbus, son Mitchell I. (Jan) Kush of Broken Bow, daughter Sheila R. Kush of Columbus and Dick Hough of Columbus; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert A. Kush and daughter Rosemarie A. Brugger.

Richard Sutton

COLUMBUS -- Richard L. "Dick" Sutton, 86, of Columbus, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at his home in Columbus.
The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus with Rev. Patrick Sparling officiating. Interment will be in the Columbus Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion, Hartman Post 84 Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today at Gass Haney Funeral Home, and continue 9:30 a.m. until service time Monday at the church. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. Monday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran School or Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Richard LaVal Sutton was born Oct. 28, 1927, in Hebron, to Orin D. and Edna (Hagen) Sutton. He attended school in Hebron and on March 1, 1946, entered the United States Army during WWII, becoming a paratrooper and a proud member of the Honor Guard with the 82nd Airborne Division. He was honorably discharged on Sept. 8, 1947.
On Feb. 24, 1952, Richard was married to Ethel Krumland at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus where they have resided since. He was employed at Behlen Manufacturing Company and retired in May of 1993 as Quality Improvement Manager, after nearly 35 years with the company. Richard was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, reading, and helping his family.
Richard is survived by wife Ethel Sutton of Columbus, daughter Laurie (Bob) Tredway of Lincoln, son Tim (Betty) Sutton of Columbus, son Dean Sutton of Columbus, daughter Judy (Glen) Donahoo of Columbus, 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Ruth Sutton of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, sister-in-law - Wilma Krumland of Colorado Springs, Colo., nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by parents Orin and Edna Sutton, granddaughter Amy Tredway, brothers Gerald, Harold, and William Sutton, and sisters Sylvia "Babe" Levendofske, Mildred Lacey, Doris Dailey, and Betty Tellier.

ST. CLOUD, Minn. -- Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Belbina L. Zona, 99, of St. Cloud, Minn., who passed away on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at Assumption Home in Cold Spring, Minn.
Reverend Thomas Knoblach will officiate. Burial will take place in Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
Family and friends may call after 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the church. Arrangements were made by Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.
Belbina is survived by her children, Patricia (Robert) Daleiden of St. Michael, Dee "Deloris" Zona of St. Cloud; granddaughters, Diann (Robert) Peterson, Peggy (Mark) Jocelyn, Amy (Glenn) Houser, Michelle (Scott) Schreifels, Gina (Jeff) Ackerson; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Johnny, Richard, Walter, Daniel, and Leonard; sisters, Rose and Dorothy; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son Ronald "Ron"; husband, Stanley; brothers, Edward, Steven, Lewis, and Lloyd; sisters, Elizabeth and Mary Bialas, and Frances Zelazny.

SCHUYLER -- Robert "Bob" Blum, 68, of Schuyler, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at Alegent-Creighton Health Memorial Hospital in Schuyler.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity-Heun. The Rev. Andrew Syring will officiate.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Thursday, with a 7 p.m. rosary service, at Kracl Funeral Chapel in Schuyler. Visitation will continue 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday at the church.

NOROFLK -- Lawrence Rosenthal, 91, of Norfolk, formerly of Platte Center, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at Norfolk Veterans' Home.
