Gene Watson
Age 85
Gene Watson, a former resident of Columbus and former Nebraska Public Power District General Counsel, passed away in Mesa, Arizona, on Sept. 22, 2018, at the age of 85.
A celebration of life is being planned for a future date at Leisure World in Mesa, Arizona.
Gene was born in Alliance, served in the U.S Army from 1954-56 and Army Reserve from 1956-62, and was a 1962 graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Law. Gene spent his retirement in Arizona, enjoying life to the fullest and supporting charities too numerous to name. His wit, love, and zest for a party will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his significant other Ellyn McKinley, his daughters Angie (Gerard) Hallier, Camie (Marc) Moser, Sue Watson, seven grandchildren Tiffany, Katelyn, Lindsay, Tyler, Paige, Treyton and Kennedy; three great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Virginia Tanner, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Flossie, sister Kay and brother Tom.
