STROMBURG -- Memorial services for Jim Lundstrom, 70, of Stromsburg, will be Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Stromsburg United Methodist Church in Stromsburg. The Rev. Daniel E. Spearow will officiate, with private family burial in Swede Home Cemetery following the luncheon.
Arrangements are by Brockhaus-Howser-Fillmer Funeral Home in Norfolk.
He died Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Midwest Covenant Home in Stromsburg after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia.
James Martin Lundstrom was born Oct. 30, 1945, in Stromsburg to Martin and Ruby (Johnson) Lundstrom. Jim graduated from Stromsburg High School in 1964, and graduated from Southeast Community College in Milford in 1967 with a degree in Auto Body Technology. He married Kathleen D. Lab on March 11, 1967. To this union, four boys were born. Jim enjoyed raising his boys and spent countless hours in the back yard playing football or setting up an indoor basketball court in the living room. He also enjoyed taking them to the stock car races on Sunday nights!
Jim and Kathy moved back to Stromsburg to take over the family farm in 1978. Along with farming, Jim owned and operated Jim's Auto Body shop where he repaired and painted vehicles. One of his pride possessions was his 1929 Model A that he built from the ground up.
Jim was a member of the United Methodist Church in Stromsburg. He was a strong Christian, loving husband, dedicated father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy of Stromsburg; four sons, Robert Lundstrom and son Shayden of Stromsburg, Craig (Kathy) Lundstrom and children Cael and Brexton of Stromsburg, Steve (Angie) Lundstrom and children Peyton, Eli, and Ben of Norfolk, Eric (Shannon) Lundstrom and daughter Addison of Papillion; one sister, Elaine (Tom) Hetzer of Dallas, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents Ruby and Martin Lundstrom.
