COLUMBUS -- Judy Ditter, 65, of Columbus, died Saturday, May 4, 2013, in Fremont.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 3921 20th Street in Columbus. Interment will be in the Roselawn Cemetery in Columbus.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2013, with a 7 p.m. vigil, continuing 8:30-10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 8, 2013, all at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus.
Judy Ditter was born on July 4, 1947, to Walter and Lorraine (Ewert) Egger in rural Platte County. She grew up in the Columbus area and graduated from St. Bonaventure High School in 1965.
She was united in marriage to Harvey Ditter on August 26, 1967, at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Columbus. Besides being a homemaker, Judy worked in the Platte County Clerks office and sold Avon. She loved children, which fit well with her jobs as a cook at Columbus High, a para-educator at Sunrise and Platte Center elementary schools, and as the cafeteria manager at St. Isidore's Catholic School for 13 years. She volunteered for the Columbus Area Right to Life as treasurer and taught P.R.E. at St. Isidore's for 13 years. Her hobbies were growing flowers, collecting rocks and being with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Harvey Ditter; and her children, Michelle, Chad, and Scott Ditter (Celeste), all of Columbus. She had one grandchild Joshua, son of Scott and Celeste. She is also survived by her mother, Lorraine Egger, of Columbus; and brothers, Dave (Sue) Egger, of David City, and Gary (Teri) Egger, of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her father, Walt; and nephew, Dillon Egger.
