Leota Kayl

A Celebration of Life Service for Leota Kayl, age 93 of Lynch, Nebraska will be Friday, June 21, 2024 from 2-5 pm at the Lynch Community Hall in Lynch. Leota passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Alpine Village in Verdigre, Nebraska. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Biglin's Mortuary in Spencer are in charge of arrangements.
Leota Lavonne Hull was born at Redbird, NE to Glen and Opal (Lowrey) Hull on March 25, 1931. She was the 4th child of seven children. She graduated from Lynch High School in 1948 with a teacher's degree and taught for 5 years in surrounding rural schools. In 1952, Leota was united in marriage to Donald J. Kayl at the Assumption Catholic Church in Lynch. To this union three children were born, Charie, Timothy and Donald, Jr.
Leota lived in many states and the Philippines for the next 20 years due to Don's Air Force orders. They returned to Lynch in 1971.
Leota was an avid seamstress and crocheter. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading books, drinking coffee, and visiting the casino.
Leota is survived by her three children: Charie King of Lynch, NE, Tim Kayl of Columbus, NE, and DJ (Julie) Kayl of Parker, CO; her sisters: Audrey Havranek, and Glendora Kalkowski; her brother, Jerry (Joyce) Hull; sister-in-law, Rose Hull, all of Lynch, NE. She is also survived by her grandsons: Ben (Christina) King of Blair, NE, and Brice (Nicole) King of Humphrey, NE and her great-grandchildren: Liam, Grace, Oakley, Chase and Penny King of Blair, NE, and Eli and Emersyn King of Humphrey, NE. Other survivors include numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Leota was preceded in death by her parents: Glen and Opal Hull; sisters and brothers-in-law: Wanda (Neil) Bjornsen and Geraldine (Bill) Spencer; brother, Richard Hull; and brothers-in-law: Leonard Havranek, and Leo Kalkowski.
