COLUMBUS -- Michael D. Coe, 61, of Columbus, died Thursday, August 29, 2013, at the York General Hospital in York.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the Federated Church, in Columbus, with Pastor Irene O'Brein officiating. Interment will be in the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at Gass Haney Funeral Home and continue on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. There will be a family prayer service on Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. at the church.
Memorials are to be directed to those of the family choice.
Michael D. Coe was born February 25, 1952, in Holdrege, to Cleo and Phyllis (Dedrick) Coe. He attended Hastings Public Schools and graduated from Hastings High School in 1970. Mike went on to graduate from the Nebraska Police Academy in 1973. He worked as a deputy sheriff in Adams County from 1973-1978.
On November 27, 1987, Mike was united in marriage to Judith L. (Mott) Craft at the Federated Church in Columbus. Mike was employed as a truck driver most of his life and was presently employed at Forney Trucking. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed building things, was an avid collector of several interests, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Mike is survived by his wife, Judith L. Coe, of Columbus; son, Chad Coe, of Hastings; daughter, Cassandra Coe, of Grand Island; daughter, Abigail Coe, of Columbus; daughter, Emilie Coe, of Columbus; daughter, Stacy (Rob) Coughtry, of Columbus; daughter, Stephanie (Scott) Stevens, of Columbus; daughter, Sarah (Justin) Sorenson, of Columbus; grandchildren, Xiomara Garcia, Carter Coe, Peyton Coe, Jordan Craft, Andrew Stevens, Brooklyn Stevens, Cylas Stevens, and Caiden Sorenson; and sister, Connie Davis, of Hastings.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Cleo and Phyllis Coe; son, Jonathan Craft; granddaughter, Jessica Craft; and sister, Susan Coe.
