COLUMBUS - Phyllis L. Morris, 74, of Columbus, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006, at the Columbus Community Hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Columbus, with the Rev. Bill Ritter officiating. Burial will be at the Columbus Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. today, 9 a.m.-noon Tuesday, both at Gass Haney Funeral Home, and from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with a family prayer service at 1:45 p.m.
Phyllis was born Aug. 18, 1932, in Liberal, Kan., to Fred and Floy (Odneal) Arnold. She married Don Morris on Feb. 17, 1951, in Mynard. For 23 years, Phyllis was a route driver for the Columbus Telegram. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Eastern Star Harmony Chapter No. 13, and the Ladies Auxiliary Fraternal Order of Eagles. Phyllis enjoyed cooking, gardening, and collecting music boxes and elephants.
Survivors include her husband, Don Morris of Columbus; sons, Wayne (Colleen) Morris of Columbus, Barry Morris of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Jeff (Amy) Morris of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; mother, Floy Arnold of Columbus; sisters, Janis Newton of Memphis, Tenn., and Glenda (Bill) Maxwell of Canyon Lake, Calif.; brother, Wade (Alana) Arnold of Rosamond, Calif.; and numerous other relatives.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her father, Fred Arnold; and son, Martin Morris.
Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church or the Children's Masonic Home in Fremont.
