Phyllis Ann Steinberger Robb, 87, of Tacoma, Wash., passed after a long and courageous struggle with Dementia.
Her last days were spent in the care of Hospice and the New Glory Family Home in Tacoma. Phyllis, or "Mitz" to all those who knew and loved her, was a native Nebraskan.
She was born and raised in Schuyler, the daughter of Otto and Ilda Steinberger. A graduate of Schuyler High School, she was a cheerleader and a phenomenal ice skater. She was married to Terrence L. Robb and lived for several years in Columbus where they raised three children.
Mitz also lived in New Orleans, Tennessee, New Jersey, and Maryland as a result of Terry's Postal Inspector career. She loved traveling and saw most of Europe over the years. Nothing, however, was more important to her than taking care of stray and abandoned animals, gladly taking in all comers. Many a dog and cat spent the best years of their lives under the loving care of Mitz. One would be hard pressed to find a more loving wife, mom and a woman of considerable character.
Mitzi is survived by her husband, Terry, her three children, Ken and his wife Deta, Kevin and his wife Cathy and Kelly and her husband Kevin, six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, her brother Robert "Bob" Steinberger and the hundreds of lives she touched in so many wonderful ways.
We will miss her terribly and we will forever honor her gift to all of us -- herself. God Bless and keep you mom. There will be no services at this time. Donations may be made to your local Hospice or the Franciscan Hospice Foundation, PO Box 1502, Tacoma, Wa. 98401, in her honor.
