Richard Sklark Obituary

SAN MARCOS, Calif. - Richard Floyd Sklark, 66, of San Marcos, Calif., died Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at his residence.

Services were Tuesday at St. Mark's Catholic Church in San Marcos. Burial was in the Oak Hill Memorial Park at Escondido, Calif., with military rites conducted by an active unit of the U.S. Navy Honors Detachment in San Diego.

Mr. Sklark was born May 26, 1937, to Floyd and Jane Sklark in Gaylord, Mich.

He married Leann K. Carnes on July 27, 1984 in Reno, Nev.

He was regional sales director for Unisys Corporation, retiring in 1998.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Retired Volunteers for San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cheryl (John) Booze of Huntington Beach, Calif.; a son, Wesley (Maria) Sklark of Culver City, Calif.; two sisters, Gina (Richard) Johnson of Thousand Oaks, Calif. and Dolores (Frank) Smilowski of Gaylord; two brothers, Norbert (Luz) Sklark and Don (Irene) Sklark, all of Gaylord; and his parents-in-law, Keith and Virginia Carnes of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association, P.O. Box 3879, San Diego, CA 92163-1879.

California Funeral Alternatives were in charge of arrangements.
