Carolina Medina Arce, of
Colusa, CA, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025, and is now with her beloved husband, Salvador Arce.
Carolina was born on January 3, 1924, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to Consuelo Avilés and Alejandro Medina.
She and Salvador shared seventy wonderful years of love and devotion before he passed in 2011. Carolina celebrated her 100th and 101st birthdays surrounded by her loving children.
Carolina raised six children before embarking on a 30 year career as a Migrant Educator with the Colusa, Maxwell, Arbuckle, and Princeton Unified School Districts.
She traveled tirelessly to support migrant families across these districts, including summers at the Migrant Education Center in Williams, CA, where she provided guidance, education, and outreach to students and their parents.
Her work impacted countless lives through her commitment to education and advocacy.
Carolina was a member of the Catholic Ladies Relief Society and exemplified her faith and contribution through her service to the church and community.
Following retirement, Carolina and Salvador enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. Both enjoyed spending time outdoors cultivating their gardens on Oak Street, where they created a welcoming and vibrant space for all who visited.
Carolina was preceded in death by her husband, Salvador; sisters, Emma Salas, Lilia Alvillar, and Irene Saucedo; as well as brothers, Roberto, and Alfonso Medina.
She is survived by her brother, Benjamin Medina; six children, Arthur (Sharon), Raul (Lynn), Oswald (Tammy), Sergio (Laura), Lupe (Mike), and Caroline (Bill); cherished grandchildren, Gerald, Adriana, Noel, Nick, Miguel, Andre, Chase, Rose, Patrick, Maleah, Dana; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Colusa, CA.
