Joanne Charlotte Bascochea passed away on October 17, 2025, in Marysville, CA, at the Prestige Assisted Living. She was 87 years old. She passed away peacefully. Joanne was born in
Colusa, CA, on March 14, 1938, to Charles and Frances Codorniz, who are both deceased.
She grew up with her sister, Maxine Jensen. Joanne spent her youth in
Colusa, CA. Growing up, she was very active in school, she loved sports and played Tennis, Volleyball, Baseball and Basketball.
She was in the Glee Club, Future Homemakers of America and a Majorette for her High School Football Team. Go 'Redskins!', name changed to RedHawks in 2011. Joanne fell in love with Ramon Bascochea and they got married in 1955. They were married for 67 years. Ramon passed away in 2022.
In 1960, Joanne and Ramon moved to Wheatland, CA, where Ramon purchased the Wheatland Hardware Store. Joanne did the bookkeeping for their business while raising their three children, Deborah, Barbara and Charles. Joanne's life was filled with family, friends, food and fun. She loved to cook for her family and friends, always taking cooking classes and trying out new dishes.
She was an avid reader. She loved to play games with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends. When her children were growing up, she took them camping every summer. One of her favorite things in life was her Pinochle group. They got together every month and even went on vacations together. She loved to travel with family and friends.
Being a mother was one of the most important parts of Joanne's life, a role that gave her pride and so much joy. She was an amazing mom, supportive, kind, hilarious, creative and fun. She made every birthday and holiday special.
Joanne will be greatly missed by her daughters, Deborah Fradleizio, and Barbara Bascochea; son-in-law, Michael Fradelizio; son, Charles Bascochea; five grandchildren; and her nine great-grandchildren.
Joanne's funeral will be held on November 20, 2025. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 AM, located at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 345 Oak Street,
Colusa, CA 95932 with a service at the burial site afterwards at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery located at 1741 Wescott Road,
Colusa, CA 95932.
