Ernest "Bob" Rojo

1936 - 2015

Ernest (Bob) Rojo, 79, of Brighton, passed away on Sept. 21, surrounded by his family.

He was born Feb. 25, 1936, in Lamar, to Salvador and Isabelle (Portillo) Rojo. He graduated from Fort Lupton High School in 1953 and continued his education to receive his associates degree. He married Josephine (Jodi) Trujillo in 1965.

Bob lived in the Brighton-Fort Lupton area for the majority of his life. He owned and operated the Brothers II Bar & Lounge for 20 years. He was one of the area's first Hispanic entrepreneurs and business owners. His passion in life was restoring all makes and models of classic cars. He just finished restoring a Chrysler Crossfire, which he just drove weeks ago. Bob enjoyed reading and traveling with the love of his life, Josephine.

Bob is survived by his wife, of Brighton; his children, Rudy (Audrey) Rogers, of Longmont, Joyce (Gerry) Higgins, of Denver, Lynn (Greg) Strayer, of Westminster, and Terri Chavez, of Denver; stepchildren, Dan Trujillo, of Fort Meyers, Fla,. Bill (Elaine) Trujillo, of Henderson, Cheryl (Rudy) Montano, of Brighton, Dana Waymire, of Brighton, and Robin (Wayne) Lamb, of Westminster; siblings, Gilbert (Angie) Rojo, of Thornton, Ruben (Michelle) Rojo, of Aurora , Maria Dorothy (Daniel) Steffey, of Portland, Ore., Delia (James) Kennedy, of Castle Rock, Bertha Rojo, of Centennial, and Charles (Linda) Rojo, of Bella Vista, Ark.; 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; plus numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three siblings, Martha, James and Salvador Jr.; and stepson, Kerry Trujillo.

Per Bob's request there were no services. Tabor-Rice Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
