JOHN GLANCY Obituary

vo John M. Glancy, Jr. “Buddy”, 88, passed away May 16, 2012 at the VA Medical Center. A native Memphian he was one of five children born to John M Glancy, Sr. and Augusta Duecker Glancy, and the first to be greeted by them in Heaven. John was a sports fan and participated as a softball pitcher for many years, he was also an avid golfer. John graduated from Humes High School, and went to serve his country in World War II. He was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Anne Catholic Church on Highland. Left to cherish his memory are his sister Gladys Sellers and his twin Mary Enyart, both of Memphis, and brother, Joseph Glancy of Little Rock, Arkansas, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation and rosary was held Thursday, May 17th; a Funeral Mass will be held Friday, May 18th at St. Anne Catholic Church 706 S. Highland, at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Memphis Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, St. Anne Catholic Church, or charity of the donor’s choice.
