Mrs. Sheppard was a very patient and kind lady who took care of my hair in the 70's. I looked forward to seeing her because I knew she would not only do a great job, but would listen and offer sound advice. Life a less sweeter without her caring spirit. May God grant the family peace during this time of transition. Sandra Bernard- White

To my other grandmother, I will truly miss you. I remember when Michael and I would come over to the house with Beulah and Sharon or just riding our bikes to your house. I remember you being my very first hairdresser, boy did you know how to press some hair. God is good and I want to thank him for placing your and your family in my life.

A great lady and a life well lived was Aunt Lillie. She was always there for me.She was there when I got married, when I needed a babysitter,a hairdresser, mom, aunt, mentor and just someone that would just listen. She took such good care of my daughter and spoiled her in the process. She walked her to school and met her at the railroad track in the evening and bought what she wanted at the grocery and fixed her what she wanted to eat. We even sat on the row with her at church. She was the aunt that everybody would have loved to have. She was once, twice, three times a LADY and she will be missed so much. Aunt Beulah, Rachel and Sharon,Walter, Marsha and the rest of the family have a great legacy to carry on. I will be ever grateful for all that this family meant to me. I am praying for your strength, grace and peace as well as mine. May God bless you now and thru the days ahead. Aunt Lillie take a well deserved rest in the arms of the Lord's.

Mrs. Martin, Sharon and the rest of the family:
My heart is heavy because I will not see Mrs. Shepherd again in this life but I know that it is well with her soul. She has joined Brother Shepherd now and I know that all is well. She often told me how kind and mannerable Mychal was to her and how much she appreciated that because "most young folks don't have time for old people." I am so glad that they developed that bond when he was young.
I think God that she and Brother Shepherd came into my life and made such a lasting impression on me.

I remember when my daughter was going to Orlando with the church and she came and put some money in my hand, this is for your baby. I felt so blessed. She also gave me tips on being a good wife. She and Mr. Shepherd were just a true blessing in my life. Rest on Mrs Lille Mae.

I am a little lost for words right now because Mrs. Shepherd was a great inspiration to me and she had so much wisdom. There was never a time where when you visited her that you didn't leave her with her fussing at you about something, In my case she would always fuss at me about playing outside in my Sunday socks and when sunday comes I wouldn't have a good pair of socks to where to church because I had played in them. There were many times she would holler up that street come here girl to find myself that when I get down the street to her she would say now you know why I called you down here right and I would be like yes ma'am. She would say get yourself back on up the street in that house and get out of those sunday socks right now. And sure enough I would go do it and she would be just watching to see if I did. I use to kid with her the older I got and I would ask her Mrs. Shepherd I think that you use be looking in the window to see when we are gonna come outside and play and you will get your broom and start sweeping the curb when there is nothing to sweep just to be watching us well me anyway since I was the target for some reason. :) I often asked of her and had to go see my lady that is what I called her MY LADY no one understood me calling her that but her and she did and she was okay with that. She will be greatly missed! To Beulah, Rachel, Sharon I am praying for you all during this time you all had a very sweet mother and her legacy will live on. Please know that what she instilled in me through the years is still within me. She did my hair and she could do some hair. She did everyone hair on the street she will be missed tremendously. Oh I would love and be so glad to still pay ONLY $5.00 to get my hair done. :) Mrs. Shepherd what you told me about my sunday socks I have use the same thing on my daughter playing in her sunday socks. See I listened to you. R.I.P. MY LADY!!!
