Amy Dutton Obituary

CONCORD – Amy S. Dutton, 46, passed away peacefully at her home Friday evening surrounded by her loving family after a 31/2 year battle with breast and ovarian cancer. Amy was born in Nashua on February 15, 1969 to William and Anastasia Dutton. Amy grew up in Hudson and was a graduate of Alvirne High School with the class of 1987 and received her Bachelor's in education from Plymouth State College in 1992.
Amy has been a Concord resident for the past 15 years. After earning her degree, Amy went to work for the Winnisquam Regional School District as a High School Physical Education teacher. During her 19 years with the district she was the Winnisquam High Schools Boys Varsity soccer coach, in which she was awarded the NHIAA coach of the year twice. She more recently was the Winnisquam Girls Varsity Basketball Coach after coaching the JV team for a number of years. She also coached Belmont Girls Varsity soccer and the Winnisquam Middle School track and field teams. Amy was a member of the NHIAA committee for 3 years. She was a faithful New England and Boston sports fan and was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. Riding her Harley Davidson was her most enjoyed past time.
Amy's spirit and zest for life will live on in every person that she touched in her 46 years. She projected her amazing positive attitude and defined courage with every spoken word. Her kind hearted way was felt by all with her greeting of "Hey Buddy" and her infectious smile and excitement for every day.
Amy leaves her beloved partner of nine years Sharlene Hardy of Concord; her step-son Trevor Hardy of Concord; her parents William and Anastasia (Paraskevakos) Dutton of Litchfield; two sisters Beth Dutton of Orlando, Fla.; Sara Dutton and Norman LaPointe of Hooksett; extended family members; Sharon and Jim Pluff of Hopkinton, Pam and Scott Rozean of Northfield as well as numerous other close friends, colleagues and students.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 28 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Wendell J. Butt Funeral Home, 42 Washington St., Penacook. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Boscawen Congregational Church, King Street, Boscawen.

From the moment I meant Amy at Sharon and Jim's house I was taken in by her smile and engaging personality. I can certainly see how she affected so many people. She was one of a kind. ALL of the comments and words of sympathy written here are a true testament to who she was and what she stood for. Sharlene, Trevor; what can we say to take away your pain and sorrow? Nothing that has not already been said by all of us that feel your sorrow. No one can take away your memories with Amy of laughter, tears, celebration, hope, sadness and acceptance. Here's to you Amy! May you be at peace and free from pain.
