Anthony G Arcone
Franconia, NH - Anthony Goodman Arcone passed away on February 17, 2026, after living gracefully with a rare form of cancer for three years. Born March 11, 1973, in
Boston, Massachusetts, Anthony grew up in Meriden, New Hampshire, and attended Lebanon High School. His high school achievements in academics, soccer, and skiing led to an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. In 1996 he earned a B.A. in economics from Haverford-Bryn Mawr College. Anthony began his professional career in energy trading and continued in information technology, most recently at Amazon Web Services.
Anthony met his wife, Amanda, while working in the
Washington, DC, area, and they married in 2002 at Meriden, New Hampshire. Together they raised four children in Maryland and West Lebanon, New Hampshire. They moved to
Franconia, New Hampshire, in 2017.
Anthony's life centered on his family. He was a true partner to Amanda, pal and biking mate with his father, caring son for his mother, and a "step-up" parent who modeled the independence he taught his children. He maintained accountability for and celebrated the successes of his family.
Anthony's life balanced routine and adventure with his family and many friends. His family will miss his morning ritual of coffee and the Wall Street Journal, and outings that reflected his love of nature. He will be equally missed by the dogs, cats and enjoying the property he cared for on the old farm he dearly loved. His passions included motorcycling through New England, kayaking, hiking and biking in the mountains of New Hampshire and Virginia, and skiing in New Hampshire and Colorado. Four days before he passed, Anthony was doing what he loved best: skiing Bretton Woods with disabled athletes.
Anthony is survived by his wife, Amanda Arcone, son Max Ashburn Whitaker, son Samuel Miller Whitaker, daughter Brooke Frances Whitaker, son Benjamin Ashburn Whitaker, mother Penelope Hills Arcone, father Steven Anthony Arone and his partner Marianne Peters; brother Alexandre Arcone; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, colleagues and friends.
A celebration of Anthony's life will begin at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Franconia Inn, 1172 Easton Rd,
Franconia, NH 03580. The family welcomes contributions to New England Disabled Sports at
www.nedisabledsports.org, a charity to which Anthony gave many years of service as a ski instructor.
