Brian was a great guy to work with. Smart, funny and he was very concerned about others. Seems like yesterday when we worked with the Mckerley family. My condolences to his children, grandchildren and extended family.

Becky & Erich, I am so sorry for your loss of your Dad. He was a good man with a very generous heart. Intelligent, hard working and had a passion for any project he took on. I always loved to hear his stories, and we have so many memories of our families growing up together. He was always so proud of you both and would light up when he spoke of you, which such pride in his voice. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. God bless.

I met Brian when he was the Vice President of Residential Services at Zachary Road Easter Seals Facility. Brian was typically the first administrator on site in the morning and the last to go home at night. He could usually be found in the cafeteria in the morning wiping down tables and sweeping the floor, getting it ready for the kids to come in and have breakfast. He would greet the kids and make sure they all got what they wanted when they started their day. It was not uncommon to see Brian throughout the day doing tasks and duties that needed to be done, but that were both well below his pay grade, and title. As a young manager it made one self reflect, and undoubtedly think, "if it´s not beneath Brian that it´s not beneath me". Brian did whatever he needed to do to meet the needs of a facility, that served a very challenging population of at risk youth. Brian made it his business to interact with every child. He made sure they had the right clothes and sneakers, and never left the building during the winter months without a proper coat. Many of the kids referred to him as "gramps". Brian was Inspirational and a true leader in a very old school way.
I just completed my 25 year at Easter Seals, and in that time I´ve met a lot of dedicated people, but now being "old school" myself, I´ve gained a far greater appreciation for who Brian was and what he meant to the agency. I hope if I make it to heaven I´m greated by Brian, yelling my name and putting me to work.
Thanks Brian!!!
