Charles MacGlashing Obituary

Charles MacGlashing

Pittsfield, NH - Charles Tupper MacGlashing, 71, of Pittsfield, passed away suddenly at home on April 21, 2025.

Born in Cambridge, MA, Chuck was the son of the late Richard and Eleanor (Mistyshin) MacGlashing. He grew up in Danvers, MA, and graduated from Danvers High School.

Chuck was a bricklayer, mason, and mechanic by trade-respected for his work ethic, skilled hands, and pride in his craft. After a construction accident ended his career early, he faced life's changes with grace, courage, and determination. He built not just with his hands, but with his heart -- a loving home, a tight-knit family, and a wide circle of friends.

A lifelong Red Sox fan, Chuck held season tickets for nearly 30 years. Whether cheering from Fenway or his favorite chair, he rarely missed a game. He also enjoyed hunting, fixing things in the garage, and could repair just about anything.

Above all, Chuck loved his family. He was a devoted father to his three boys -- Jesse, Chuck Jr., and Jake-and a proud grandfather who cherished time with his grandkids. He also treasured his days at Great East Lake, soaking up the sun, listening to classic rock, and sharing moments with family and friends.

He was predeceased by his brother, Richard "Chico" MacGlashing.

Chuck is survived by his sons: Jesse MacGlashing and his wife Yvonne of Pittsfield, NH; Chuck MacGlashing Jr. and his wife Kristen of Reading, MA and Jacob MacGlashing and his wife Alyssa of Rye. He also leaves behind his sisters: Deborah Picillo and her husband Ken of Laguna Niguel, CA; Christine Coppola of San Francisco, CA; Corinne Connor and her husband Peter of Hampton and Denise MacGlashing of Exeter. He was a beloved grandfather to Noah, Jesse Jr., Ainsley, Adelyne, Charlie, Josie, and Ewan, and will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Chuck's life will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025 at 10:00am at the St. Michael Church, 9 Lincoln St., Exeter NH, 03833. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Jimmy Fund Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Charles MacGlashing to support cancer research and patient care at: Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Sending my condolences to the family and friends who loved Chuck. He will always be a Fenway staple for myself, the other ball attendants, and the staff from the Sox that crossed paths with him.

I was saddened to hear the news and wish we could have given him one last hug on the first base line, but I will continue to laugh at the memories of his jokes and our time spent at the ballpark.

Love your Red Sox family.

Our condolences to Chuck's family. We were fortunate enough to attend many Red Sox games in Chuck's seats over the years. With that came numerous memories, like my youngest daughter's first game on her 7th birthday where Chuck got Jaun Neives attention while walking back from the bullpen with Clay Buckholz letting them know it was a little girls birthday. Clay was gracious enough to come talk with our daughter and sign a ball. Later during the game Wally brought her a hotdog and took photos with her. All due to Chuck being the mayor of the front row. So sorry for the families loss.
