Clifford Knippers Obituary
Clifford Knippers
Pittsfield, NH - Clifford M. Knippers, 68 was ever so gently and carefully carried home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, December 14, 2022. Matthew 25:21: "Well done thou good and faithful servant". 2 Timothy 4:7: "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith". Born January 30, 1954 in Many, Louisiana, he was raised and lived the first 31 years of his life in various cities and towns around the state, settling in Carlyss, Louisiana where he met and married his wife, Robin E. Knippers, a yankee, from Lancaster, New Hampshire.
In 1985 Clifford moved his young family to New Hampshire, making it his home and raising a family while working for Seward and Keith Construction, Trailways, and finally the State of New Hampshire, where he retired in 2019. His retirement job, People Greeting at Sam's Club in Concord, became a place where he loved his members and will be remembered by them for his friendly greetings and quick wit, not to mention his cowboy hat and boots. He truly was a people person, always joking and cutting up. He is described as a good and caring man by those who knew him. Clifford was a very hard worker with a strong work ethic, always taking care of his family and providing for them.
Clifford was an avid sports fan, cheering on the Patriots, Dolphins, 49ers, Saints and more - never discriminating, predicting the winning team each year and always "knowing" who would win the Superbowl. He loved basketball and Nascar, but especially enjoyed watching college basketball. Clifford coached girls elementary and high school basketball. He also loved music, and could always be found listening to and singing along to Southern Gospel, Elvis, Oldies and Country Music. He always made sure his neighbors enjoyed his music as well. Clifford was gifted with a beautiful singing voice and as a child sang in a quartet at churches in southwestern Louisiana. He also had a talent for making sure the neighborhood knew he was around very early in the morning with his famous bugle serenades. He shared his love for music with his children and grandchildren, purchasing guitars, keyboards, karaoke machines and other musical instruments over the years. Clifford always had music with him and in him everywhere he went.
Clifford is survived by his wife of 41 years, Robin E. Knippers, three beloved daughters and 4 "sons": Jasmyn and Jon Richardson, Jayda Gelo and Shawn Boulanger, Janyssa and Matthew Kinzler, and Travis Gelo. He was Paw Paw to ten grandchildren who brought him tremendous joy and who adored him, Carter and Jackson Gelo, Sawyer, Piper and Bryer Richardson, Ensley and Eliza Boulanger, Ezra Kinzler and two foster grandchildren. One sister, Sue and Bill Harness and a cousin who was like a brother, Randy Bush. Family members also include Donna and Roland Hopps, Leo Jr. and Michele Rideout, Leon and Cora Rideout and Stacy Rideout along with several well loved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and Daisy, his loving companion dog.
He was greeted in heaven by two grandchildren, Avery Lee and Snow Victoria Kinzler, his beloved mom, Ovela Allen Knippers and father, Amos Monroe Knippers, two brothers George and Judy Knippers and Thomas and Artie Sue Knippers and great nephew Griffin Donald Kenison.
Services will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Trinity Baptist Church, 80 Clinton Street in Concord at 11:00 am. Committal Service to follow at Blossom Hill Cemetery, Concord.
