Constance Lehoux Obituary

Constance Griffin Lehoux passed away peacefully Monday, Aug. 17, 2015, with family by her side at the Concord Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born in Concord on May 28, 1917, to Elizabeth Griffin Gove and Arthur R. Griffin. Connie was a lifelong resident of Concord and graduated from Concord High School in 1935. She attended Lasell Jr. College in Newton, Mass. and graduated from Stoneleigh College in Rye, in 1937.

She was a secretary for Concord Electric Company for 20 years and retired from Concord Steam Corporation at the age of 75 where she was assistant treasurer for over 30 years.

A lifelong member of the Unitarian Church in Concord and a member of the Eastern Star for 78 years, she was also a Rainbow girl and girl scout leader for several years. Connie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, George D. Lehoux, and two sisters, Barbara and Betty Griffin.

She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Lehoux of Concord, Betty Lichty of Brattleboro, Vt. and Beverly Pelkey of Kentwood, Mich.; as well as eight grandchildren, Kevin and Daniel Lichty, Andrea Roy, Stephanie Yoder, Tara and Sean Healey, Sarah and Jonathan Pelkey; and four great-grandchildren.

She will always be in our hearts.

Her service will be held on Friday, August 21, at 1:30 p.m. at the Blossom Hill Cemetery, 207 North State St. in Concord.

Reception to follow will be held in Manchester.

In lieu of flowers, Connie has requested memorial donations be made to the Pope Memorial SPCA of Concord-Merrimack County at 94 Silk Farm Road, Concord NH 03301 or to the Society for the Protection of NH Forests at 54 Portsmouth St., Concord, NH 03301.
